Tracing the Tarot Track


Over the past, the tarot has been associated with the gypsies. With the fascination of the latter for cards a means for divination, they were not the people responsible for its birth.

These past few decades marked the popularity of tarots as it raised to higher level, with its modern decks, and dozen of decks to choose from.

Time has witness the rise and fall of the cards fame. Resurrected from by the search for deeper meaning behind life's mysteries and symbolism, the card has found its way again towards a different level.

There exist many theories of tarot card origin. One theory is found in the historical library of Alexandria in Egypt. The book was perceived to be based on the legendary Book of Throth, which is derived from the mystery schools of Egypt. Allegorical illustrations on the cards are believed to contain the secret teachings. This teachings are represented by the major Arcana in the course of personal development.

Considered to be a corrupt form of Egyptian, the “gypsies”, are believed to have carried the card to Europe. While the church considered it as a devil's picture books, they were condemned by the church, stating it was heretical. Even mere possession of the card is considered a dangerous act.

Speculations says that the images of the tarot is considerably linked to ancient beliefs and myths, none was proven and remained to be a mere thoughts.

The tarots track have passed from generations fin a roller coaster ride. With its ups and downs, to date it remained to be famous and most sought after as means of perceiving the deeper meaning of life's intricacies. No matter how it came to be, the Tarot clearly refer directly to humans' fundamental psychological and spiritual experiences. An in depth learning and practice of it, results to a deeper and more conscious understanding they have to both inner and the outer life. As it was meant primarily for enlightenment.... it is a path of discovering the self.

One theory suggest that the Italian card game taarrochi originated the existence of the tarot. Although, most were perceived to be mere speculations and theories, the use of the tarot has been remarkably great passing from generations to generations.

The 72 cards are wonderful for meditation. It is as well use for divination purposes and in answering questions. As the key to the gate of unconsciousness, they stimulate one's intuition. Illuminating the hidden side of person's life, it continuous to be a a tool for man's search for enlightenment.
